Kareena’s childhood dream

kareena5

Kareena Kapoor from childhood cherished the dream of becoming an air-hostess. She had a great desire to fly higher and higher and go around the world but when the appropriate time came to convert her dream into reality, her father raised a big objection and Bebo’s career took a complete U-turn. She said, “I wanted to be an air hostess and fly the world, but my father was very against that. Then came the lawyer phase, where I went to Govt. Law College for six months and ran away because of the books.

Though not as an air-hostess, Kareena is flying higher and going around the globe being an actress and she is happy for that. Bebo is quite content with the progress she has made in her personal and professional life and feels lucky enough to find a beau like Saif Ali Khan who understands her like nobody. She added, “The fact that I am not the heroine of his (Saif Ali Khan) first production just goes to show that we have our complete different zones when we work. Saif Ali Khan is actually the guy who has wanted to be single all his life, run away from relationships, run away from commitment, but he always tells me ‘you are actually the only girl that I really wanted to commit to.

But he is supportive and understands that she is at ‘a stage which every girl would want to be at in their career’ and for that, I love him even more.

Beyonce Knowles feels sexier when she was not "thin"

Beyonce KnowlesUnlike other celebrities who force themselves into gruelling exercise regime to maintain their figure, singer Beyonce Knowles feels sexier only when she was not thin.

“To me, it’s sexier when it doesn’t look like you go to the gym,” the New York Daily News quoted her as telling Britain’s Daily Mail.

“I feel best when I’m not really thin and not really heavy-when I’m still curvy. I really believe that everyone is supposed to be different, and whatever is a natural weight for you is usually what looks best,” she added.

Ash - Abhi - Amitabh back with home production

Amitabh-Abhishek and Aishwarya will be back after Sarkar Raj with a film being made under their own production company; AB Corps Pvt. Ltd. The film will go on the floors in the second half of the year.

The Bachchans who pride on brandishing the Bachchan brand were initially set on a script that would have Abhi-Ash in the lead, but with Mani Ratnam’s film taking longer than expected to complete the talk is that the Bachchans don’t want another film with the two coming out in quick succession. So they have no zeroed down on a film based on the lives of two aging dons and their quest for survival against the new breed of mafia.

The movie is set in Mumbai and obviously Big B will be playing one of the leads. And they are very keen on roping in Dharmendra who has made a comeback to mainstream Bollywood to play his partner-in-crime. Amitabh personally called Dharmendra and sounded off the project to him and the script has been sent over to the Deol house.

Shilpa had rushed to London Sunday to meet Jade Goody, but was unable to see the ailing star whose condition is deteriorating rapidly due to cervical cancer.

Shilpa was at the receiving end of racial barbs by Jade during the 2007 “Celebrity Big Brother” but the two had made peace soon after.

Rashmi Sinha among America's sexiest CEOs

Rashmi Sinha, CEO, SlideShare. Photograph, courtesy: SlideshareA PhD holder in neuroscience, the chief executive officer of the world's largest presentation sharing web site, and a super sexy and desirable lady?

For Non-Resident Indian Rashmi Sinha, it's all in a day's work.

In a recently published article, appropriately named 'Women on Top', Playboy magazine has named its 10 sexiest CEOs in America. Sinha, the lone Indian on the list, features in the seventh spot.

And while many of the entrants run companies in predictable industries -- lingerie and adult films, for instance -- Rashmi is that rare woman who combines beauty with brilliance.

A true Internet pioneer -- though she earned her doctorate in Psychology from the Ivy League's Brown University -- Sinha decided she liked 'building things' more than writing academic articles.

So, she co-founded the San Francisco-based SlideShare.

And, ever since its 2007 debut, the company has been greeted by a deluge of positive feedback, from users and critics alike. In fact, SlideShare has been hailed as the 'YouTube of Powerpoint presentations', because it allows users to upload their presentations to the Web, so that they are accessible from any place, at any time.

Though Sinha's only in her 'late 30s', SlideShare is not her only success. In the past, she has consulted on user experience projects for companies like eBay, iFilm, AAA and Blue Shield. She also led the team that created MindCanvas, a rich online survey platform for designers. MindCanvas has been used by companies like Microsoft, CitiBank, Expedia and Yahoo.

On her personal blog, Sinha tells us a bit about herself:

"I like to understand people. I like to create things. I love working in a startup. I did a PhD, then got bored with working in the lab and moved to creating software," she writes. "I live in San Francisco with my husband. We go hiking, watch too many movies, and don't listen to enough music. I am originally from India and think of both San Francisco and Delhi as home. I want to travel to South America next."

Another eminently talented Indian making waves in corporate America. She's definitely one to keep an eye on in the future.

The other women CEOs in the list include:

  • Claire Chambers, CEO of Journelle, a lingerie retail company.
  • Kerry Knee, CEO of Flirty Girl Fitness, a fitness lifestyle company
  • Julie Smolyansky, CEO of Lifeway Foods; makers of specialty dairy products
  • Teresa Phillips, CEO of Graspr, a how-to video site
  • Alyssa Rapp, CEO of Bottlenotes, a wine shopping/recommendation site
  • Candida Royalle, CEO of Femme Productions, an adult film company
  • Alicia Morga, CEO of Consorte Media, a digital marketing company
  • Sharen Turney, CEO of Victoria's Secret Megabrand, a lingerie retail chain
  • Tina Wells, CEO of Buzz Marketing Group, a market research firm

Bollywood Khans share the same flick..

Writer-and-director Sanjay Chhel is making a film on the lives of people associated with the Hindi film industry. However, what's interesting is that the film will be a comic take on the relationships people within the industry share with each other.

Titled Fantastic, the film will have Sanjay's personal and funny impressions that he has garnered while working in the glamour world. It is also expected to unmask how the industry truly works through situational comedy with a pinch of satire.

Sources say Sanjay might approach the top three Khans in Bollywood -- Aamir, Salman and Shah Rukh -- to make guest appearances in the film. If it happens it will be a coup of sorts as the three leading actors have never come together for a film, even if it's for a cameo.

"I will approach them to play themselves. I am looking at other actors too. I do have to show the stars and people really associated with Bollywood in the film to give it an authentic feel. I'm going to approach many people to play cameos," says Sanjay.

Though Sanjay is gung-ho about the project, his wings could get clipped with the production house looking to chop around Rs3 crore from the film's total budget of around Rs10 crore due to recession.

Sanjay says: "I have been communicated that my budget will shrink by around 30 per cent due to market conditions. One can't say much about this as it's a bad market we are working in."

Navin Shah of Percept says, "It is true that we are looking to downsize the cost of our film by 25-30 per cent. The recovery from this market is low. We are not sure when normalcy will return and so we are not taking any chances."

Amitabh Bachchan bangs at the media

Amitabh Bachchan is miffed with the media for forgetting the importance of the situation and becoming restless to get bites from the celebrities who have come to attend filmmaker Prakash Mehra’s funeral. He vents out his anger at the media on his blog and slams them for forgetting the sensitivity of the occasion.

Big B writes on his blog, “Prakash ji’s eldest son Sumeet returned from USA this morning and the cremation took place by the afternoon. Abhishek and I attended it, but the behavior of the electronic media at the crematorium was just disgusting. No respect shown for the sensitivity of the occasion. No regard for the moment and no ethics at all in maintaining some decorum for this very private and sombre ritual. All they were interested in was in getting that ‘bite’ or shoving their cameras inches away from your nose, at a moment when one desired peace and quiet. Shameful. But what of some of the mourners, if they can be called that! They were no less. Pushing and shoving to get a position behind or near about the celebrity, so the cameras can catch them.”

He ends up saying, “I shall not dwell on this anymore. I may just burst a blood vessel.”

Shocking! A soft porn film titled 'Aishwarya'

Aishwarya Rai To apparently cash in on the popularity of top Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai , the makers of a soft porn film have titled it ‘Aishwarya’ and given it the catchy punchline – ‘Based on true rumours’.

Apart from the mainstream Hindi film industry, there also thrives an industry of soft porn films starring struggling girls from towns and cities. At times the makers of these films rope in girls who have facial resemblance to Bollywood actresses. At other times the movies are titled to mislead the viewers. A few years back, there was a skin flick titled ‘Bipasha – The Black Beauty’ that starred a dusky actress with facial resemblance to Bipasha Basu . And now, one such movie titled ‘Aishwarya’ is about to make waves in the soft porn market.

It’s not known who stars in the film (the girls often don’t use their real names in such flicks), but the poster of the film revealed a fair-skinned shapely girl dressed in a bikini.

Shamita Shetty eyes MS Dhoni

“Shane Warne’s a fantastic cricketer and an even better captain, but I adore Yusuf Pathan and I’m fond of M S Dhoni,” said Shamita Shetty thereby putting the speculation in wrong way that she is entangled with naughty eyed man, Shane Warne.

Shamita is in South Africa tour to cheer for her didi’s team Rajasthan Royals. Reports saying that Shamita getting cozy with Australian cricketer Shane Warne at a party thrown to mark team’s victory has been turned down by the actress.

Amused by the rumor, Shamita said, “I don’t know where the press is getting this from but it really needs to get the facts right. Honestly, it’s the funniest bit of news I’ve heard in a long time”.

Shane is her fav but she adores Pathan. “Have you seen him get ready for a six? He’s got an amazing style,” quips Shamita. And she is also Dhoni’s admirer who is from the Chennai team. Shamita is not cricket enthusiast but the IPL has drove her crazy, "I’ve turned into a cricket enthusiast overnight", remarks Shamita.

Big B Snubs Rekha

Much as we would like to lay old ghosts to rest, they keep rising up and commanding our attention. The Amitabh Bachchan-Rekha alliance has spawned a million stories, some on film and some in real life.
Some have their basis in truth and some are the product of someone's vivid imagination, but
what happened on the evening of Feb 28 at the 54th Idea Filmfare Awards is backed by pictures. At the end of the function 1 Rekha
stands and greets Shah Rukh Khan who acknowledges with a bow. 2 She moves on to Abhishek Bachchan, whom she has perhaps
known since he was a kid accompanying his father to the sets of
an Amitabh-Rekha film. The bonhomie is obvious as she kisses his cheek. 3 She then warmly hugs the Bachchan bahu Aishwarya Rai Bachchan 4 and just as she is about to disengage and greet the last person of the Bachchan party, 5 Amitabh Bachchan walks
away.

It`s celebration time for Congress

Congress-led coalition on Saturday won a spectacular victory in the staggered Lok Sabha election, puncturing a disparate opposition, with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh set to govern the world's largest democracy for five more years.

Yuvraj and Mandira Cosy up in South Africa

According to sources from South Africa, Yuvraj Singh is believed to be more than just good friends with Mandira Bedi. Buzz is that the cricketer and the commentator have been bonding big time a couple of weeks after the Indian Premiere League took off.

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8ZI4INjbGCWjpH4se0IVOfKsMBHn30txcha4mn5a_6pHi_uLtQzaWQIZe7Tce5tVw3c381GvmUn1-ctkyDCbjUfMblzKJwt0HIidBf4ucS0Hwz9YsjQvuohfo_OIkMEqhdc-FJgwd4c0/s400/yuvraj.jpg
“They were very good friends earlier, but somewhere along the way they got too busy with their schedules and couldn’t really keep in touch,” says our source, adding that Yuvi and Mandy caught up in SA like more than just long-lost buddies. The cricketer and television hottie’s bonding hasn’t gone unnoticed. The two have even made it to the the famous ‘fakeiplplayer’ blog as the author writes, “Sometime during this tournament, the Prince and Sandy Baddy Babe have renewed their long friendship.

They have been seen together in clubs, hotel lobbies and corridors having long discussions on the finer nuances of the beautiful game.” Reportedly, Prince is the blogger’s name for Yuvraj Singh while Sandy Baddy Babe is Mandira Bedi. Now this is something that isn’t too hard to believe.. since the Kings XI Punjab captain is reported to be quite a ladies’ man, considering his partying ways in Mumbai, Delhi etc. That was after he had broken up with long-time girlfriend, actress Kim Sharma.

Yuvi and Kim were in a relationship for four years.. and were reportedly even considering marriage. But it is believed that his mother didn’t exactly approve of an actress bahu right from the time they committed to each other. Initially everything was hunky dory, but after a couple of years, his mother’s dominance began to show.

Yuvi, who’s known to be a maa ka laadla, reportedly gave in under pressure from her.. and gradually he and Kim drifted apart, sometime in the middle of 2007. It’s believed that Yuvi used to call and SMS her till last year, but wisened a year-and-a-half since their split, Kim didn’t revert to him.

Preity Zinta takes iifa award

Zinta is particularly known in the Indian media for her straightforwardness and for honestly expressing her outspoken views and forthright opinions in public, be it about her on-screen or off-screen life or raising a voice against any social injustice.[8][9] These features were noted during the Bharat Shah Case, when she testified against the underworld; following this incident she was described by journalists as "The only man in Bollywood".[2][76] Her characteristic dimple has been cited by the media as her trademark. She is often described by the press as having a vivacious personality and a bubbly, outgoing persona, an image she has confessed to disliking.[48]

Zinta at the 2004 IIFA Awards.

In 2003, Zinta appeared in the number one spot on Rediff's "Top Bollywood Female Stars".[5] She was ranked second for the following three years.[105][106][107] She has been featured frequently on other Rediff lists, including "Bollywood's Most Beautiful Actresses",[108] "Bollywood's Best Dressed Women"[109] and "Woman of Many Faces".[110] In September 2006, the UK magazine Eastern Eye ranked her at 41 in the list of "Asia's Sexiest Women".[111]

On July 15, 2005, Zinta filed a defamation suit against leading Mumbai tabloid Mid-Day after tapes emerged alleging that Salman Khan had made derogatory comments about her. The tabloid published transcripts indicating that she had a sexual relationship with Khan, and she was cross-examined as a chief witness in January 2007.[112] She said about the case, "I felt humiliated as it spoiled my reputation and character in public." She told of disparaging phone calls she received from individuals pretending to be Salman Khan, and that she had been repeatedly questioned in a derogatory fashion by the media.[113] Zinta further stated that the events affected her professionally as well; a planned film with Khan was abandoned. The tape was examined by the Government's Forensic laboratory in Chandigarh which concluded that it was a fake.[114]

Between 2004 and 2007, Zinta made three appearances on the Indian talk show Koffee with Karan, hosted by Karan Johar, appearing with Saif Ali Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Bobby Deol, respectively. In 2006, she was a guest judge in the singing talent contest Indian Idol 2. She returned briefly to her occupation as a model when she walked the ramp for Manish Malhotra's display Fashion Week 2006, along with actress Kajol.[115] Later that year, Zinta and filmmaker Karan Johar represented Bollywood at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival to promote Johar's forthcoming Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, which featured Zinta in a leading role.[116]

In May 2007, Zinta returned to Cannes for the 60th Film Festival to attend the premiere of My Blueberry Nights, which opened the gathering.[117] She co-hosted the 52nd Filmfare Awards ceremony alongside Shahrukh Khan, Juhi Chawla and Karan Johar.[118] She was selected as the first brand ambassador for GoAir, a new airline service owned by Jeh Wadia from Wadia Group. Speculation arose in the press that she endorsed the brand as a favour to Jeh, who is Ness Wadia's brother, a suggestion that Zinta quickly denied.[119] May 2008 saw Zinta making her third consecutive appearance at Cannes; she attended the 61st Film Festival as the brand ambassador of Chopard, the maker of luxury watches and jewellery.[120]

I share Amitabh's bedroom: Amar Singh

In an industry where you are known by th clique you belong to, it wasn't surprising that at a sombre gathering for Feroz Khan's prayer meeting, B-Town folks noticed and discussed that Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh made an entry and exit with Sanjay Dutt, and not Amitabh Bachchan.

Until now, the politician has been seen at filmi dos only at the Big B's side, so naturally, it became a talking point. Amitabh, came to the venue with wife Jaya Bachchan, son Abhishek and bahu Aishwarya.

Changing sides? Last year, the Big B came with Amar Singh to the book release function of Sanjay, Priya and Namrata Dutt's parents: Sunil and Nargis Dutt. Now, Sanjay is being accompanied to most events by Singh. Says a source, "After the prayer meeting, Singh went with Jaya to Bachchan's home; but now, it's Sanju first and Bachchan later."

The source says it's natural for Singh to get close to Dutt as the actor has been campaigning for him and his party (SP) over the last two months for the elections. "Apart from the fact that Sanju knows Amar Singh for the last 14 years they have become emotionally close in the last couple of months. Earlier when Singh used to come to Mumbai, he would head first to Bachchan's Juhu home but now he goes to Sanju's Bandra home first, spends some time with Sanju and Manyata and then goes to meet Bachchan."

Amar Singh refutes the fact that he's become closer to Dutt. "Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan) is my family and my elder brother. He's not a commodity to be chased after. Sanju is definitely closer to me politically than Amitji because he's my party's general secretary and has campaigned hard during the elections. He could have got an escape route when he wasn't allowed to contest but he chose to serve with dignity. Amitji is apolitical. He doesn't like politics. If you ask me, then I will say that Amitji can never be replaced in my personal life. He's the head of my family."

Singh continues, "When I go to Mumbai I stay in Amitji's home. I am the only Amar Singh who shares his bedroom. I am politically equally close to Jaya and Sanju though I am more comfortable with Sanju as he's a guy. I know Sanju for the last 15 years and if today, I am closer to him it's because he's stood beside me like a rock during the elections like my younger brother. But that doesn't mean that Amitji has not been with me. It's absurd to compare the two relationships."

About Feroz Khan's prayer meeting, Singh says, "I had no plans to go there but Sanju was with me campaigning and while boarding the plane he asked me to come along. It was all last-minute, but now because I went with him that visit has become a point of discussion."

Kareena flapped down by Priyanka’s statement

kareena-priyanka

Certain media channels do precisely look to pull-on something more interesting from celebrities by shooting polemical questions. Here’s a stark exemplification and Priyanka was smart enough on reverting with a sassy answer. Priyanka Chopra was questioned what’s her take on Kareena saying that she and Shahid are unremittingly using her name for their film’s (Kaminey) publicity?

Ah! Priyanka was so cool in responding, “Kaminey is made by one of the best filmmakers (Vishal Bharadwaj) of tinsel town and churned by a great banner. Shahid Kapoor does dual role and me as a Maharastrian woman. I think the film doesn’t need much more publicity than this. Kareena, are you listening to this?

Preferably, these two filles should be waiting for the box office warfare as their films ‘Kambhakth Ishq’ and ‘Kaminey’ hits the screens on alternative weeks in August. Possibly, the producers-multiplex owners tiff may get the releases postponed furthermore.
